Dr Katie Read is a researcher for the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) in the United Kingdom, based at the University of York. She manages the long-term trace gas measurements (CO, CH4, CO2, halocarbons, O3, SO2, TGM, NOx and hydrocarbons) at the Cape Verde Atmospheric Observatory (CVAO). She also runs a comparison and calibration facility at the Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratories (WACL) in York. These are both Atmospheric Measurement and Observation Facilities (AMOF). Her interest in mercury was established in 2010 when the CVAO became part of the international FP7 project GMOS project and TGM measurements were added to the suite of measurements measured at the Observatory.
